Connections well beyond Houston
A pleasant surprise of my Every Single Street Houston project has been the community I’ve found across the city, country and around the world. From time to time I post an image that resonates with someone else and they share back similarities from their community. Below are some of those connections as well as times I’ve meet other every single streeters for run meet ups.
Stade, Germany
When I posted the image below (left) it was met with praise for the repurposing of the newspaper box, but for another every single street runner from Germany, it sparked something more. @cu.runnning.today on Instagram sent me the images below of a phone booth repurposed as a library from their community that they had seen on the run.

I crossed Waldo St. many times on a run one day and posted the image below of the street sign. We had some fun looking for Wally in some screen shots I posted along with this image from Where’s Waldo books. Then Rickey Gates (the originator of the every single street project idea, who ran ESS in San Francisco in 2018) reached out and told me to look up the Waldo St. he saw during his project.

On a visit to Austin in Dec. 2021 I had the opportunity to connect with and run about five miles with Daniel who is currently running every single street in Austin.

Our run took us by the tower on The University of Texas campus.
