BARC, Animal Shelter
Recently on an 8 mile streets run through the neighborhoods of Northside Village and Fifth Ward I stumbled on a giant painted paw print on the ground. It seemed strange for where I was because I didn’t think there was a school around and paw prints associated with school pride were my only experience with them up to this point. I stopped to take a quick picture and continued on my route. Then I stumbled on more and more and they eventually led me to BARC.
BARC is the City of Houston’s Animal Shelter and Adoption Facility. BARC is the only city shelter required by law to accept every animal that comes through their doors, regardless of breed, temperament, health conditions and circumstance.
